Skin Care in Rainy Season-Pimple Treatment

Hello All,

Rainy season  is here , all Delhi gets disarrayed this time . our skin mostly looks oily due to sweat or moisture that present in the climate. Germs grows rapidly in this climatic condition and cause more acne or pimple. There are also some more skin disorders that are mostly seen in rainy season like red spots on skin, itchiness in skin, rashes and flaking patches. These disorders are found in skin fold areas. Fungal infection is the main cause. In this post I will tell you some tips to prevent your skin in rainy season.

  • Don’t allow accumulation of sweat or moisture in skin fold areas.
  • Dust talk well to absorb sweat or moisture.
  • If your feet or any part of the body comes in contact with dirty water, wash that area with hot water adding some antiseptic lotion and dry properly.
  • Always use face scrubs to exfoliate, once in a week.
  • Avoid more moisturizing products.
  • Avoid oil base foundations.
  • Regularly use face wash once in a day and don’t forget to use toner after face wash.

Tips for Healthy Snack Alternatives

There are many misconceptions about snacking. Many blame snacking for extra weight gain. However, as long as you choose your snacks carefully, snacking can actually be a valuable tool in your efforts to manage your weight. Whether you like to munch, nibble, or simply curb the afternoon munchies, you can make snacking work to your advantage.

Listed below are some of the most common snack myths and the truths behind them.

Myth: All Snacks Are Fattening
Truth: Eating a healthful snack between meals can fit into your overall eating plan Just be sure to choose nutritious, low fat snacks, without a lot of calories. No food is fattening by itself. It is the imbalance of total calories in and total calories used by your body that causes weight gain.
Myth: Eating a Snack Will Spoil Your Appetite
Truth: Eating a snack, such as an apple or small salad a couple hours before your next meal will not spoil your appetite. It will however, help curb your appetite and make it easier to get to your next meal without becoming ravenously hungry, which might otherwise lead to overeating at your next meal.
Myth: Snacking Will Cause Cavities
Truth: Snacking does expose your teeth to food and decay-causing bacteria, but avoiding snacks that are sugary or sticky and brushing your teeth after eating a snack can actually help prevent cavities.
Myth: I Can Never Eat Unhealthy Snacks When I’m Trying to Lose Weight
Truth: It is possible to eat less healthful snacks from time to time as part of an overall balanced eating plan. When you have a high-fat or high-calorie snack, simply adjust your food intake for the rest of the day to account for the snack. In fact, having the occasional indulgent snack may actually help keep your diet on track.

Smart Snacking Tips

The key to making smart snacking decisions is to be prepared for a snack attack. Use the following tips to make smart snacking choices:

  • Plan ahead so that you have healthy snacks on hand when you need them. Stock your refrigerator at home with fresh fruits and vegetables and keep low-fat granola bars or rice cakes in the glove compartment of your car.
  • Avoid distractions when you are snacking. Instead of munching absent-mindedly while you are watching television, try eating your snack while sitting at the table with no other distractions. This will help prevent you from overeating. If you crave a snack while enjoying your favorite show, only take a reasonable portion with you to the couch and leave the rest in the kitchen so you won’t inadvertently overeat.
  • Vary your snack selections. It can become boring if you try to eat the same snack day after day. Doing that can increase your chances of reaching for a less healthy treat the next time you want a snack. Try to eat a variety of healthy snacks each week.

DIY Do It Yourself Homemade Hand and Feet Scrub

Hello Girl,
Today i am going to tell you my favorite homemade hand and foot scrub.
It very simple, zero cost and without any extra chemical 🙂
This hand scrub is so easy to make, very cheap and makes your hands feel like silk.  You will also be startled by how much dirt comes off your hands.I dont use any essential oil to make it smell lovely, but you could use whatever you like: rose, bergamot, peppermint, ginger , lavender etc.

Of course you could also use it on your feet, and peppermint oil is wonderfully cooling and refreshing for tired feet.

Simple ingredients

SEA SALT HAND SCRUB

Utensils:
1 small bowl even u can use only your hands also

Ingredients:
1 heaped tablespoon of coarse sea salt
1 tablespoon of any type of heavy oil like olive oil, sweet almond oil , Mustard oil(I use mustard oil as its quite thick)
1 tablespoon body wash( any body wash )
Method:
Put the ingredients into a bowl and stir well
Scoop some onto your hands – a few teaspoonfuls should do it
Rub it all over your hands, in between the fingers, rub it into your cuticles etc
Keep going until the salt has all but dissolved
Dry your hands – they will feel like silk
Apply your favorite hand cream

As an extra treat for your hands, buy a pair of cotton gloves from the chemist.  Put your hand cream on, a little more thickly than usual, then pop on the gloves and go to bed or put your feet up for an hour.  The heat from your hands helps the cream to be deeply absorbed and more effective.

DIY (Do It Yourself) Homemade Mango Peel off Mask

Hi Girls,

Today i am going to tell you a simple but awesome  homemade peel off made from king of fruits MANGO.

Homemade do-it-yourself facial peels are not only easy to whip up, but are great for your skin and would be perfect for a slumber party, bridal shower or just for the privacy of you in your own home. Homemade do-it-yourself facial peels can be made with a number of different foods that are more than likely already in your kitchen. Listed below is the recipe for  homemade facial Mango peels

Mango Juice Facial Peel

Ingredients:

1 tbsp. of plain gelatin

½ cup of fruit or Mango juice

Mix your ingredients into a bowl and place in the microwave until the gelatin mixes with the juice. Now place the bowl in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the mixture begins to thicken. Be sure not to let the mixture become so thick that it is not able to be applied to the face. Now apply the homemade do it yourself facial peel to your skin, leaving out the eyes, mouth, and nose. Leave mango facial peel on the skin for about 20 minutes and peel off to remove.

Follow with toner and moisturizer to lock the moisture 🙂

Good Night

DIY (Do It Yourself) WaterMelon Facepack Receipe

Watermelons are rich with vitamins, potassium and lycopene, making them excellent at helping with muscle and nerve function, controlling inflammation that contributes to conditions like asthma, diabetes and arthritis, and providing antioxidants that help to reduce the risk of cancer.

Watermelon helps to hydrate, soften and rejuvenate your skin, and the combination of vitamins A, B6 and C found in watermelons also help to repair and protect your skin as well. Check out the facial mask recipes below to make your own DIY facial mask at home.

For sunburns or sun-damaged skin
Soak cotton pads with fresh watermelon juice and apply to your skin or sunburned areas. Let them on your skin for 15 to 20 minutes, then rinse off with cool water.

For soft, oil-free skin
Mix 1 teaspoon of watermelon juice with 1 teaspoon of plain Greek Yoghurt. The lactic acid and enzymes in the yoghurt will help to gently exfoliate and purify while the watermelon hydrates and heals. Apply the mask to your face and neck for 10 minutes before rinsing off.

For ageing skin
Mix 1 teaspoon of watermelon juice with 1 teaspoon of mashed avocado. Avocado is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that help to plump up the skin. Avocado is also rich in vitamin C and vitamin E, which act as antioxidants for a powerful anti-ageing combination. Apply this mixture to your face and let it sit for 20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

For dry skin
Mix 1 teaspoon of watermelon juice with 1 teaspoon of organic honey. Honey helps to bring moisture deep into your skin, making the watermelon juice even more efficient in hydrating your skin. Apply to your face and let it sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

For inflamed, acne-prone skin
Rub watermelon rind onto your skin several times a day. Wait for 10 minutes for your skin to absorb it naturally and then rinse it off with warm water.

DIY(Do It Yourself)- Mango Face Mask Review

It’s that blessed time of year when the mangoes are in season, flooding the markets throughout the country with fresh, mango-ey goodness. Not only are these tropical fruits delicious to eat raw, straight (and put in smoothies), they work wonders for the skin.

Whether you have extra left over from a recipe, or buy a mango that gets a little too-ripe before you get a chance to eat it, you can use some of the in-season mango on your face. This might seem crazy, but is a great way to go — they contain extremely high levels of beta carotene, vitamin C and natural fruit acids, which are natural, gentle exfoliators (all the previous ingredients you will also find in expensive face masks). Below, find my favorite ways for using the fruit to get smooth, soft skin.

Mango and Honey Face Mask Recipe (via nichetopics.com)
Honey retains moisture so your skin feels hydrated and fresh all day. It also absorbs impurities from the pores in the skin, making it a very effective chemical-free remedy to clear skin blemishes like acne and pimples.

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons finely chopped mango pulp
1-2 teaspoons honey
1 1/2 tablespoons almond oil

Instructions:
Place all ingredients in a bowl; mix well.
Apply on your clean face and neck. Leave the face mask on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off thoroughly with lukewarm water. Good for all skin types.

Nourishing Mango Mud Mask (via Crunchy Betty)
•1/4 of a mango, chopped in pieces
•1 tablespoons white clay or finely ground oats
•1 tablespoon honey
•1/4 c. milk or heavy cream (add more for consistency)
Chop your mango into pieces and toss into your food processor or blender. Whir it up until they’re nice and pasty. Add the milk and honey, and blend more. Then add your clay (which can be easily found at Mountain Rose Herbs or any number of local natural foods stores) or finely ground oats. Blend until smooth. (As noted in the pic above, it’s okay to have some chunks.)
Apply to a clean face and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with a warm washcloth.

How to make your own AHA mango facemask (via Eco-Chick.com):

1. Start with an organic, fair-trade mango and rinse it well under the tap (you can use a teensy bit of all-natural soap if it’s sticky from other-mango juice).

2. Holding the mango lengthwise, cut the skin (but not deep into the mango) in four or five long cuts, from the top where the mango would have attached to its tree to the bottom.

3. Gently peel the skin away from the mango fruit (kinda like peeling an orange except the skin is thinner so you have to be more gentle).

Tip No 3 :Sunscreen facts

We all know that sunscreen helps protect our skin and prevent signs of ageing such as spots and wrinkles, why aren’t more of us using it? To find out, Prevention asked dermatologists to share some of the most common excuses women give for going outdoors unprotected.

There are some myth about sunscreens with there reality check

The chemicals in sunscreen are probably more dangerous than sun exposure”

Fact: In one study, mice fed a whopping dose of oxybenzone, a UV-light absorber commonly found in sunscreens, exhibited oestrogenic effects, which researchers believe could cause cancer cells to grow more rapidly. But by Wang’s calculations, it would take more than 250 years for someone who uses sunscreen daily to be exposed to the amount of oxybenzone used in the study. Still worried? Use a natural sunscreen like with natural ingredients ,free of parabens, artificial fragrances or colours, mineral oils and petroleum-based ingredients.

“I don’t get a lot of sun”
Fact: It is important to use a broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 to 50 all the time, indoors and outdoors, even on cloudy days. Clouds don’t block UV rays that cause sun tan, so you can still get dark. Just remember, UV rays can be reflected off water, sand, snow, glass and concrete. So you can even get a tan even in the shade.

“It’s a drag to re-apply sunscreen”

Fact: Five minutes every two hours-that’s all it takes to apply the two tablespoons of sunscreen recommended for protection when you’re outdoors for extended periods.

“I haven’t gotten burnt yet”

Fact:While Indian skin types may well never manifest a proper sun burn, uneven tanning leading to patchy pigmentation is common. So, it is important to reach for that sunscreen lotion every day
“Sunscreen is too expensive”

Fact: As long as you pick one that clearly states it blocks both UVA and UVB rays, there’s no need to break the bank when buying. “Research doesn’t show any relationship between price and protection,” reports Wang.

“Applying sunscreen leaves a white film on my face”

Fact: “The reason for the chalky look is the higher concentration of zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in the sunscreen you are using,” says Goel. But instead of doing away with sunscreens altogether, why not look for one that works for you? Most people benefit from sunscreens with sun protection factor (SPF) numbers of 15 or more.

“I use a day cream with SPF, so I don’t need a sunscreen”

Fact: If you are skipping using a sunscreen because your day cream has an SPF, you are unwittingly exposing your skin to harmful broad-spectrum UV rays, says Wadhwani. A new study recently published in the Archives of Dermatology reported that many top selling day creams that claim to offer protection from harmful UVA rays don’t contain the necessary ingredients. Even worse, if they do, they are usually not present in sufficient quantities to afford any real protection. The study specifically looked for UVA filters such as avobenzone, octocrylene, ecamsule (also known as Mexoryl SA) and zinc oxide in 29 of the best-selling day creams in the US. The data was revealing: six of the 29 creams didn’t contain any active ingredients to provide UVA protection. Just keep that in mind before doing away with your daily sunscreen. Use a fullyloaded sunscreen. Try: Neutrogena Ultrasheer SPF 50+ Sunblock with Helioplex that comes with PA+++ formulation for superior UVB as well as UVA protection. The micronised silica powder also absorbs excess sunscreen oils, leaving skin feeling soft and non-greasy or shiny.

Burn notice:

POP AN ASPIRIN immediately to help with the pain and decrease inflammation so your skin won’t get as red.

DRINK 8 GLASSES of water a day over the next 48 hours. Water cools you from the inside out and helps stave off dehydration (you lose moisture through burnt skin).

Some good sunscreen suggestion-
lotus spf 40 3 in 1 Matte-look DAILY SUNBLOCK PA+++ SPF-40
